Mackintosh’s Tea Rooms on the BBC

Make sure you’re watching BBC2 Scotland on Tuesday 07th August at 9pm for the story behind the restoration. See behind the scenes of the project to restore Miss Cranston’s beautiful original Willow Tea Rooms Building, the only surviving Tea Room designed entirely by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The documentary follows the story from initial planning and the start of the work, to funding and other challenges and achievements to the day of a special preview event on 07th June, prior to Mackintosh at the Willow opening to the public in July this year. The programme will be available on BBC iPlayer for catch up and viewers in the UK.

Watched the BBC programme. Lost in admiration for everyone who contributed to the development of this iconic Glasgow building. From the furniture makers and glass makers to the precision designers and restorers…what an amazing effort. Congratulations to everyone. I will be coming soon for a leisurely afternoon tea during which I will just take it all in. As a huge CZrM fan…I am going to really enjoy it. Thank you
