The original Salon de Luxe doors on display at the Exhibition at Mackintosh at the Willow - the original Willow Tearooms building, established in 1903.

As a heritage lottery funded project, it’s our chance to give back and say #ThanksToYou!

Without National Lottery players, the £7.9billion of funding awarded to more than 43,000 heritage projects since 1994, would not be possible. So, this year we’re offering a special offer to National Lottery players by providing free entry to our interactive exhibition to anyone who brings along their lottery ticket.
Our exhibition gives you the chance to learn more about the vibrant city of Glasgow in the late 1890s and early 1900s, a time of exciting change and innovation.
Here you can learn about the growth of the tea rooms and hear the story of successful and forward-thinking local entrepreneur Miss Kate Cranston and her unique collaboration with Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife Margaret Macdonald.

With interactive, audio and visual displays there’s plenty to get involved with. Our interactive tea blending station and dressing up area are perfect to keep the kids entertained and you can view the exquisitely beautiful Salon de Luxe doors and learn a little more about our project.

Afterwards, why not sample some delicious food and expertly brewed tea in the tea rooms? Here you can take in the breath-taking architecture of the A listed building and transport yourself back to 1903 when Catherine Cranston first opened the last of her Glasgow Tea Rooms.
To take part simply bring your lottery ticket along on the day and show it to our staff located at the retail desk.

You can also explore hundreds of fantastic special offers all over the UK on the interactive map here:

Announcement from Mackintosh at the Willow.

We’re happy to update you, that in line with government guidance and further clarification, our tearooms is still open to the public. We are closely monitoring the ongoing situation and will continue to act according to government guidelines.

Our tearooms opening hours remain the same, 12noon until 5pm.

We’ll continue to serve up delicious cakes, coffees and teas to anyone who wants to catch up safely with one other household (of up to 6 people) in a beautiful spacious environment. For now, we are not serving alcohol in the tearooms, much like Catherine Cranston in 1903 – who was a firm follower of the temperance movement!

If you don’t feel comfortable visiting, but still want to treat yourself to a delicious afternoon tea, keep an eye on further updates as our takeaway afternoon tea’s and celebration cakes are launching very, very soon.

As always, we have stringent measures in place to help protect you and our staff and you can view on our bookings page.

You can make a booking online on our reservations page, by emailing us or by giving the team a call on 0141 204 1903.
